If you want to learn how to communicate better – listen to Pamela Shaw! For almost 3 decades, the Kentucky native has dedicated her time to teaching the art of communication and business strategies. Pamela is regarded by her peers and audiences alike as one of THE most inspirational and inspiring speakers/teachers on the stage today.
Growing up in a small Kentucky town with educator parents she graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in dance. Upon college graduation, Pamela moved to 1000 miles from home to South Florida where she taught in the Broward County school system for 5 years. In addition to teaching American Literature and research, she coached the Drill team, Dance team, cheerleaders, and choreographed the school musicals.
IN 1986, both in debt and restless from the 90 hour weeks as an educator, Pamela started her Mary Kay business as a part time Independent Beauty Consultant.
One year later, it became her full time vocation where each year, she has beaten her own records and has been recognized by MKI for outstanding accomplishments.
Twice she reigned #1 at her Seminar for her Unit’s Million $ Accomplishments—a level of excellence she has repeated 21 times.
A $6 Million earner, Pam is a Senior National Sales Director with over 5000 women and 85 leaders in her MK family. She is passionate about mentoring leaders who multiply leaders. As one of MKI’s highest paid executives, Pam rediscovered her passion for teaching as the need for LIFE DIRECTION unfolded in her leadership of others.
Teaching Leadership concepts, Life and Communication skills and Biblical principles, sharing life lessons learned along her journey, touching and encouraging the lives of others has truly been the most rewarding aspect of her career and what Pam loves most.
Her CORE message under the umbrella of Intentional Living is the “DESIGN YOUR LIFE” SERIES where she has published an accompanying 90-day planner widely used in and out of the Mary Kay world.
These topics crossover in ANY genre of life, so a natural door opened for other public speaking opportunities in the Christian and Corporate worlds, a passion that stages her love of teaching.
In 1999, she was awarded the American Business Women’s Association’s Hilltopper Chapter’s Business Woman of the Year, and in October 2007 was honored as one of the original Barren County High School Distinguished Alumni.
In 2003-05 Pam recorded ‘intros and outros’ for a leadership cd series DR. JOHN Maxwell put out to subscribers through his then company INJOY. An avid Fitness and Exercise enthusiast, Pamela is Co-owner of ITS MY NOW, a wellness company designed to support a CLEAN EATING and Active lifestyle. She and her business partner published THE most effective ‘tracking journal’ of its kind.
Seven years a widow, Pam was married to her late husband, Jerry Shaw for 15 years. Jerry lost his battle to ALS, leaving her as a single parent to their now 19-year-old only son, Thomas. From these years faithfully trusting God’s guidance, new lessons on GRIEF and single parenting a teen have emerged.
